Dawn Brown
Dawn is the owner of AZ Business Consulting, a virtual accounting firm that focuses on the needs of nonprofit and small business clients. During her more than 30-year career, she has served in the private sector as the CFO of both an educational nonprofit and a trade association. Dawn has spent the past 19 years in public accounting, the first 10 of which were in the Washington, D.C., CPA firm
of Aronson & Company. Currently, she is partnered with Sechler Morgan CPAs, PLLC.
Dawn has over 20 years of accounting and information technology experience with various accounting software as both a user and implementer, with specific expertise in the areas of accounting system design and data conversion. Dawn co-authored The Financial Management Handbook for Associations and Nonprofits published by ASAE, and she has written job-costing applications for the construction industry.
Dawn speaks and teaches about a number of nonprofit and technology topics, including starting a nonprofit, good board governance, raffles and gaming in nonprofits, and Quickbooks Online.
